you would be surprised ive seen a lot of people switch up on the gameplay recently or new people playing it and really not liking it. which i understand its def not for everyone

Tbh my final verdict would be play wotww first and then check out the ds game if you’re ok with experiencing a lot of the same overarching story beats over again with the promise of a bunch of stuff also being different

A lot of smaller plot elements from the ds game had to be condensed / combined / shuffled around / straight up scrapped etc for wotww and I think the moment to moment story does suffer for that but I don’t think it makes wotww’s overall story bad. One of my favorite characters is exclusive to it

It’s kind of like Pokémon sumo vs usum if that makes sense story wise. Kind of a loaded comparison in terms of story but it’s the closest analog I could compare it to

I’m not octo but ds and wotww are fundamentally kind of different games w different story elements throughout despite their basic stories being the same. They were also developed alongside each other so they’re less a remake and more a pair. I would say start w wotww first though
