Listening to this Wondery / American Scandal series of episodes on Deepwater Horizon. I kind of remember it but there have been so many environmental disasters related to oil, how can one keep up?

This is the very last #Kmart in the United States. I think also in the world, but I’ll need to verify it. It’s literally a shell of its former self. This is where the garden department for a much larger former location of this store.

And yet, the University is 'exploring' the possibility of requiring staff to be on campus 5 days a week. I would lose 5 out of 9 on my staff. They will not travel those long distances and I don't blame them.

Most of my staff at the University of Miami do not live in Miami and commute long distances because it's so unaffordable. Salaries have not been adjusted for the high cost of living here.

More than half of Miamians can barely make ends meet, new report finds Rising housing costs and lagging wage growth have pushed more than a half-million local families to the financial brink.

This is no joke. #Miami has become unaffordable for over half the population (54%) in the city / county. "They might have to choose between food and child care or car insurance and a medical procedure. Many are just a crisis or two away from financial ruin."

Apparently, it’s a thing. There’s no directions for people who get a new phone to deregister their old phone first before they set up a new phone. IT helped me fix it.

I got a new phone today. As I was setting up all the apps, I opened MS Authenticator to make sure I can get into all my work accounts. It prompted me to type in a code in itself, which did nothing. It is maddening circular logic and I still can’t get it working.
