Often when a person of substance dies the internet is full of their quotes and wisdom. Or good deeds. So, in the wake of his tragic and unnecessary death, what is it about quoting Charlie Kirk's own words, or highlighting the ideas he so vigorously promoted, that now so upsets his supporters? πŸ€”

There's a difference between someone who wants a real conversation and someone who just wants to win a debate. You don't have to turn up to every argument you're invited to. Just say your piece and leave it there. Internet trolls hate being ignored, and much like narcissists, they die in a vacuum.

Australia has the Fair Work Act 2009 which says employees can't be unfairly dismissed from their jobs. This protection is a core part of Australian workplace law. USA - look and learn!

When people say musicians, or other artists, should "Stay out of Politics", they miss the point entirely. Politics, speaking truth to power, calling out injustice; these are pretty much the central purposes of art, poetry, music. The "entertainment" aspect is simply the economic distortion of this.

I appreciate not understanding Welcome to Country. That's ignorance; an opportunity for education. It's wilful ignorance, to be "entitled to my opinion" without any curiosity, that's troubling. Not implicit (unknown), but explicit (known) bias. Choosing racism. It can't be called anything else.

I'm not catholic, but can't help but respect this man who tried to lead his church in a more progressive direction. Many say he didn't go far enough. I pray his successor continues his work. RIP Pope Francis: "A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just".

Well, just under half of those who voted (assuming it wasn't rigged) and I think it was 33% of the eligible to vote population. And just over 1% more than Harris. So not even most.

The image is a heatmap titled "Measles," showing measles cases across U.S. states from 1928 to 2003. States listed on the y-axis include Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The x-axis spans years from 1928 to 2003. A vertical line marks the introduction of the measles vaccine around 1963. The color scale at the bottom ranges from blue (0 cases) to red (4,000+ cases), with shades of green, yellow, and orange indicating intermediate values (1,000, 2,000, 3,000 cases). Before 1963, many states show frequent high case numbers (yellow to red), while after 1963, cases drop significantly, with mostly blue indicating near-zero cases.

And yet Joe Rogan puts guests on who say "Vaccines aren't actually responsible for the reduction in infectious diseases.”

Vote like your best mate is indigenous, your daughter is gay, your uncle is on NDIS, your brother is on the poverty line, your neighbour is an immigrant and your kids have to live on this planet for decades after you leave.

It’s a Project 2025 strategy to use Signal to avoid keeping records and having accountability. It was intentional, they just got busted.

Paul Budde is 100% right. Telstra and Labor had a plan to deliver fibre to the home as the primary solution, the multi technology mix was and still is a disaster, I’ve worked on it. The original plan would have been completed a long time ago at a much lower cost. Telstra hate played a part too.

Well old boy, there’s a saying here in Australia that would seem to echo the sentiment in these comments. Weak as piss. If you can’t stand up maybe step aside for someone who will.

It's not for any of us to say if someone is a real Christian or not, people can call themselves whatever they want, but if they behave exactly like "just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me", well, you might as well stand in a garage and call yourself a car.

Such a national disgrace. I even gave a good friend (we are no longer speaking) information to counter his narrative, and suggested that he shouldn’t form his opinions without knowing enough to form an opinion. He said I was bullying him, that he was β€œentitled to his opinion (ignorance). Face palm.
