Honestly what makes it worse (funnier) is that it came the day after a really professional and well put together FA Cup draw. Almost as if getting a host like Flo Lloyd-Hughes who has interest and knowledge is the better way to go!

No mention of Claire Ditchburn in the official club statement, but I imagine she’ll remain as assistant under Oxtoby.

And there it is! Oxtoby announced as Newcastle’s new gaffer. Three and a half year contract for the former-Northern Ireland boss. What do you reckon, #NUFC fans?

Big potential scoop from Kathryn Batte! Oxtoby did a brilliant job with Bristol City and is clearly a very well-regarded coach. Would certainly be an interesting and slightly unexpected appointment.

Honestly, I’ve been a bit kind to Sunderland in the prediction. Given how they’ve played recently I can see a comfortable Newcastle victory if they don’t massively step up. I thought yous played well at Durham and were unlucky not to win. As long as the Blades don’t lose that’s my weekend sorted!

Birmingham look the real deal tonight. Given how well they, Charlton, and Bristol City have all played (and how poor Liverpool and West Ham are), three promoted teams may be a much more realistic prospect than I initially thought.

I did mate thank you! Enjoyed that Durham Newcastle had a lot of bite to it. Makes me excited for the derby at St James next week! Double header of its own in a way since I’m seeing CMAT after haha. How did the Blades play?

Sunderland absolutely crumbled. It’s obviously hard to judge but they’ve looked quite weak both mentally and physically recently. Pompey were putting strong challenges in all game and I don’t think they could cope. Really poor defending for the equaliser but the winner was a great goal.

I believe it's because they're playing at The City Ground and Forest men are at home on Sunday due to them being in the Europa League, but I could be wrong.
