"i just had it suggest sentence after sentence and then in a bit, I had a whole think piece. Incredible technology that keeps the human thinking in the process loop!"

2/2 in the case of the second piece, just prompting an AI tool to write something is "letting AI write your blog post" but incrementally using it for every specific step is not? [Insert Sure Jan gif here].

AI is just turning people inside out. I read a piece earlier today that talks about how AI can inject the human element into a process. And then another piece titled Stop Writing Blog Posts With AI, which detailed all of the incremental help--idea generation, wordsmithing, editing-- AI can do. 1/2

Per his point, will it be enough just to put a Ring sign in a yard and skip out on buying the camera?

Interesting interview with Ring founder. This quote exists as if "bad neighborhoods? don't already have "this neighborhood monitored by close-circuit camera" signs.

Right. It’s only a spoiler if it is not unreasonable* for you to assume** the person would have read/seen/heard/watched by this point.

I love it when the scientists reinvent the humanities for the 14th time in a decade.

Everyone on Bsky has such a deep case of Elon/X derangement syndrome.

It complete baffles him that people actually care about the things they say they care about. You can see it when he is talking to real people and they mention their issue and he almost always physically draws back with a look of confusion on his face. That he can’t believe this guy is for real.

For all of Trump’s ability to tap the zeitgeist and give people what they want, he has a GIANT blind spot re: not understanding people have beliefs that they value and hold on to dearly. That this is not more widely discussed or exploited is puzzling.

AI’s greatest trick has been to make email cool and relevant again.

It’s interesting how three years ago, email was the bane of everyone’s existence. There was too much! I can’t read & reply to it all!

And now w/ AI tools, everyone is precious about their email. I would never use AI to write an email! All my correspondence is artisanal! Look at meβ€”I’m Eudora Welty!

Something that people forget is that you DON’T have to have an opinion on everything. β€œWhat did you think of the cheating French biathlete?” Don’t know, don’t care.

β€œDid you see the video of the kid punching that guy? Do you think that heβ€”β€œ Who knows, not my concern.

Khanna seemed like he was trying to play it safe. One American (Wexler) who we already knew about and then a bunch of foreign names that no one recognized. There were not other names he saw that were better known? Dubious.
