Image of a flowering sage called giant blue sage, native to the Southeast US. It about a foot in height, with long, narrow leaves about an inch long alternating and opposite on its thin long stem. The flowers are bell shaped and have a white center. The grass is a mix of green and brown colors. The background consists of more grass and some rocks.
Spotted horse mint flower in a grassy field. The flower is somewhat tall, with yellow spotted petals and periwinkle petals that are slightly wilted. The background is a mix of green and brown grass with some leaves and twigs.
Some plants I saw hiking at a prairie in my area last month. Maritime Bluestem (Andropogon tenuispatheus), Giant blue sage (Salvia azurea), and some Spotted Horse Mint (Monarda Punctata) past its prime. Was a load of Rudbeckia and Canada Goldenrod, but didn't get many photos.
