T-TRAK and N-Scale Trains! ๐๐๐๐ Not much to show, yet; just beginning my journey into model railroading, again. Come: Follow along for progress, and how to do the things the hard way! ๐คฃ

09.10.2025 14:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Aerial photo of Bucyrus-Erie, sometime before 1981. Many long, low, industrial buildings are shown, with a number of medium-sized cranes, in the lower right.
Overhead map of the Bucyrus-Erie facilities, from 1949.
One of the largest draglines in Southern Indiana, towers over a nearby church. I thought this was B-E 3270W, but I believe it may be a Marion 8950.
Since I mentioned Bucyrus-Erie, again, here's their former operations in Evansville, Indiana.
Also, because I suck at identifying draglines, this is probably a Marion 8950. When I first found that photo, I though it was a B-E 3270W, but now I'm not so sure. I choose it for scale.
I dont use ai I draw for myself I try hard to learn skills I write my own poetry i make things by myself I use whatever is at my disposal I am not restricted to sloppy programs that destroy our web and pollute our rivers if I want to express and idea I sit down and write and rework and rewrite
09.10.2025 07:36 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Grab the broken(?) one, pull it apart and put it back together? Or is it a bunch of super tiny wires that need to be soldered?
08.10.2025 00:27 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I guess I'm just cursed. It wouldn't be the 6th time....๐
08.10.2025 00:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's my phone's default format: MP4. ๐คท
I can't imagine them dripping that.
That's all I kept from that round of shots. I've got a video of track lifting the sleepers off the ballast, as loaded coal hoppers roll past, but it seems I no longer have the option to upload video!

CSX 9969 leading some track inspection cars.
Very poor quality photos of the inspection train.
07.10.2025 23:13 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I did grab some poor quality stuff; I was too far back in the line of cars. I'll see if I can find it, but I may have deleted it.
07.10.2025 22:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's been a while since CSX has been through the area for maintenance. Through I did see one of their track geometry cars roll though a few months back. I should get out and grab some pics and video before things get fixed and weeds growing through ballast are removed/covered.
07.10.2025 22:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Spending too much there isn't hard to do.
For some of these booths, it's their fundraiser for the year, so. ๐คท
I'm probably done, though. You enjoy your evening/night!
A sidewalk with grass growing through the section breaks.
I can't recall who was making sidewalks (and roads) with or without grass growing through it, for their model railroad, but here's a bit of grass growing through the road and sidewalk.

Two tries to get this correction out. Maybe I should just go back to bed.
I'm the limited free-time I've got, Is rather get another Double functional. I haven't decided which part of my (2 Singles &) 2 Doubles yard I want to make with it; I've still got several days to figure that out.
I'm already tired.๐
A stack of functional T-TRAK modules, without scenery.
I haven't really posted model trains "in a minute". This is the current state of my layout. Nearly all the scatter buildings and trains are still boxed-up, too. Next show is in 18 days, and I've got maybe 5 of those where I don't have something going on.๐คฆ
07.10.2025 10:54 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I enjoyed this movie. This scene is completely irrelevant to anything.

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have decided to dust off their instruments and bring back the #Rush tour machine with new drummer Anika Nilles for a 7 city, 12 date tour in 2026! www.rushisaband.com/blog/2025/10...
ILLINOIS CENTRAL 4112 Built: 1946 Builder: Pullman Standard Type: Dining Car Status: Operational Originally built for the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad as their No. 505, named the "Shakamak Inn", this car was sold to the Illinois Central in 1962. It was donated to the museum by the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and arrived in Monticello in 2007. Like No. 4110, this is a functional dining car used for special events.
ILLINOIS CENTRAL "GULFPORT" Built: 1942 Builder: Pullman Standard Type: Observation Car Status: In storage; awaiting restoration This round-end observation car is one of the two observation cars built for the famous Panama Limited passenger train operated by the Illinois Central. It is currently in storage waiting for its turn to go into the shop to be restored.
This one should have been obvious - and it was! - it just didn't have the information I was looking for, *at the time*. I should visit, sometime. It's a great resource!

That interior is gorgeous!
I'm a sucker for Art Deco and Second Empire, but there just something I love about Victorian.
Accidentally stumbled across a copy of Pig vs. KMFDM "Sin, Sex & Salvation" on eBay, about a week ago. It arrived yesterday. Dang, I've missed this EP! It "vanished" with an ex, about 25 years ago. What took me so long to even think of searching Mercari and eBay?๐คฆ๐คก

I was searching for #0 washers on the website of the nearest big-box hardware store. I foolishly thought "#0" was descriptive enough.
Results included washers (but no #0), laundry machines, dishwashers, and power-washers.๐คท

It looks like Atlas made 3 car sets, at one time, of just Pullman Standard sleepers and coaches. I might have to try to get those, as I could split them among my (way in the future) planned C&EI Whippoorwill and IC Panama Limited / City of New Orleans.

I saw that repost, and since I can't qp:
"White Gen X has been so pro-Trump."
Further down the thread:
"We really don't talk about it enough at all."
I get it. I'm old GenX. We were sold a Bill of Lies, in the 80's, with a rug-pull. 30 years later, Bill of Lies 2: Only I Can Fix It!
Bunch of fools.
Just going to leave this here so I can easily find it again. Not for this reason, but that King's Dinner sounds insane.

I've been on a bit of an Illinois Central kick, for about a week, now. I was listening to Arlo Guthrie's take, just yesterday.
