It has been an incredible honor to work with you and our colleagues on behalf of the residents of Alexandria. I am very proud of the work we have done together to increase the supply of housing, to address climate change, to support our schools, to approve a landmark series of collective bargaining agreements, and to address the other issues facing our City. I am grateful for the incredible efforts of our City's staff to support me during my time in office, and to the people of Alexandria for giving me this chance to serve. I look forward to working with you in the future.

At tonight's meeting, I announced my resignation from the Alexandria City Council effective on February 9.
