Three words for this one - spooky mysterious forest. But also fae, deep time, curses(?), and a bit of a fop who wants to document the woods and be helpful. Nothing goes to plan of course.

Portal is a wonderful bookstore, run by wonderful people. If you're in the UK looking for titles by American authors that have not yet received UK editions, Portal is your new best friend. They sell more copies of each new Toby Daye book than many US bookstores do.

I have both keystone and fabric manipulation. Fabric manipulation is probably the more interesting, it's got a lot of techniques and concepts that aren't elsewhere. Keystone is more actual patterning, so take it or leave it. Though I would probably take patterns of fashion.

I might recommend a book specifically on fitting as making adjustments just from visuals without understanding what's going on can make issues worse. I don't know if there's a book on reading wrinkles, but someone did a video on it for costume a bit back and it's super helpful.

I'd also recommend checking out Sierra (formerly Sierra trading post) as they get some really good outdoor gear at discounted prices. You have to do your research, especially on brands you're not familiar with, because some of it's not as good. But outdoorsmen take their waterproofing seriously.

I'm pretty sure the screen is the major improvement on the OLED, so it should still run well. The visuals might be a little less great, but playing in docked mode would fix that.

I've got a switch OLED and bought it on release. So far it runs really well and has been a fantastic sequel IMHO. Not sure about the physical copy, but they treat the switch 2 version as free DLC on the eShop version.

This is another recnet one. Between pirates, disguises, forbidden magics, dark secrets, and a maybe possibly demonic ex-lover, The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi is sure to bring some adventure to your spooky season. It reminds us that fiddling with the supernatural is a dangerous game.

So if you get a smaller bottle of liquor you can do it directly in the bottle. The best one I've done was in bulliet bourbon, it gives such a well rounded flavor.

From what I understand we've got more people that put out left-handed content than the average hobby, which is really nice because from what I understand it's sort of mirrored.

It's a little hard to tell from the video, but it looks like either a jacquard/brocade with iridescent threads or a velvet burnout.

Etsy and other large sites are experiencing an influx of AI patterns that are nonsensical and won't turn out nicely, so I'd be a bit wary of them.

Libraries and local yarn shops frequently offer beginner classes.

YouTube is also a fantastic resource for both righties and lefties. TL Yarn Crafts is a fantastic resource.

There are also tons of blogs with free patterns and information.

Ravelry is really good for finding patterns.

I know what you mean and it seems like this is going to be a more interesting project than initially intended due to the yarn.

It looks more natural and doesn't have the line where the color changes on the chest. And like if you were going for color blocking, it would've been fine. I think alternating at least a couple of rows to break up the change is the way to go. The things we do for pretty hand dyed yarn

So it's been a few years, but Bernadette Banner made a trim or braid or something using a similar technique. She hooked threads around a lamp post and wove them together to make a trim. I can't remember what it was called though.

This is both an unsettling and comfortable story about answered prayers.

You've reached the garment sewing feed and while I didn't consider what I make particularly formal, I do make a fair number of dresses.

NGL, I wasn't sure if it could be worse.... I'm going with worse??? Trademarked blood feels worse.

My only thought about Old Man's War so far is they're going to be fertilizer or something (pretty sure they're not, but my brain insists). So uh, spin-off horror concept?

Fingers crossed and I think planning transitions and alternating a handful of rows when you switch should do the trick.

It's the curse of working with more uniquely dyed skeins, sometimes they just didn't match up 1 to 1. But as long as you make it look like a choice, it'll all work out.

If you've put them all in cakes or what have you, it might be good to sit them side by side and plan the pattern of how you want to use them. Cakes because I think it's easier to tell the nuances of the color that way.

And they've got a little variegation in the color, which helps, too.

I add the bit about highschool because like most teens I strongly disliked most classic literature. So for me to have read and enjoyed them both is a big deal. I also remember most of my honors English class enjoying Frankenstein. These are classics that manage to be incredibly enjoyable to read.

I read both in highschool and enjoyed them.

Of the two Frankenstein is the most widely misrepresented in film.

They both have similarly charming characters in the original and both have shaped genres.

It really depends on where you are in Ohio. In the eastern part, we've got beautiful rolling hills because we're in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. And this time of year, we're usually into the peak fall colors. As you get closer to the plains states, it gradually flattens out.

It can be really hard to tell, especially if you're not in a space with really good lighting. I know it's recommended between different dye lots most of the time.

It won't help now, but going forward, you can sort of blend the two skeins by alternating them for the last few rows. It makes the color change less obvious.

Confession time - I've not actually finished this one. Maybe someday.

It's on the list for spooky treasure troves and space pirates. It's been a while since I started it, but it had sort of a treasure planet vibe initially, before turning darker.

This did not suffer from being stored with other strongly smoked teas either. I will strongly be considering getting a full cake when I get my back up for northern grown.

The edge of a quiche slice on a light brown plate, a dark brown wabi-sabi style tea pot with dark leaves and a white wrapper that says lapsun on it.

Lapsun by white2tea is an absolutely exquisite smoked tea. I'd recommend a couple of tea balls to someone who wanted to try smoked tea as you can get a very light smoke flavor with gungfu style short steeps and more smoke with longer steeps. It's sweet and nuanced and delicious.
