Two pairs of completed socks next two two in-progress socks/slippers. All knit in wool but in a range of colors: yellow/purple, pastels. Green/white, green

I hear it’s socktober week for #ShowYourKnits and I learned how to knit a sock this year!

First ever sock on the left, second sock (brioche?!?! Cause I had no idea it was so hard), and then the two in progress are a slipped and a lace lock for gifts

The thing with art is - and this goes for every art form - you've gotta be willing to screw up. You have to be okay with the idea that you spend hours & hours on something...and it sucks, or breaks before you're done.

Considering this is literally why I’m getting the degree, so I can more effectively communicate and research where/why/how trafficking happens…I’m thinking I should.

I made a comment on a TikTok video about WayfairGate (the conspiracy theory that people were trafficking kids on wayfair) and how it’s part of the alt right pipeline and how I wrote a paper on it last semester.

My first thought is to stop and look up the definition of the word and say “huh, new word. Cool”

Decided to give my brain a break from the Fair isle sweater to get moving on Christmas projects.

After completely blowing my mind for a few hours, the pattern is now moving along nicely and this yarn is a DREAM to knit with.
