ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

You can’t blame the news on everything with this one though, if no one spoke up, it’s because they are fools and also a part of the problem. The news can say what it wants to both-sides it, but if a person is that easily manipulated for THAT long, then it’s on them partially too.

The reason a lot of white people can operate in the privilege of a comment like “we used to be able to have dissenting opinions & now they break friendships” is because the people of color in the room had to be silent in order to remain in the room safely.

I can’t begin to tell you how damaging “the world isn’t fair, get used to it” line has been to every child’s psyche growing up and therefore has led to a world that stays unfair. If we teach children to get used to an unfair world, we are destroying the possibility of a better world.

It’s cause we’re not supposed to just let it descend into fascism. Enough people understand it was statistically impossible results and that we aren’t supposed to just let it happen. If we were supposed to let it happen, you’d be fine getting your work done. We’re supposed to fight it off….

They aren’t hiding much other than the Epstein files and I think it’s cause those reveal a much larger, INTERNATIONAL plot of how everybody in power is actually genuinely evil. Everything else, they’ve done openly and without any accountability.

weird seeing how people speak of the current issues & possible solutions. It’s like 3 different mindsets, all connected to which generation they are from.
Younger people: either apathetic or know exactly what needs to happen & older ones are still thinking institutions are reliable despite reality.

I am having a hard time swallowing this new chorus of “I can’t believe they got this far” - girl, what? They spent the first term testing/destroying as many guardrails as they could, then they didn’t get in trouble for it, nothing got reinforced or fixed, a lot of the protofascism was maintained…

i think it’s safe to say that indie entertainment (games, animation, movies, etc) is one of the only avenues we can rely on these days to not be 100% used as a propaganda machine for our facist govt (or be dismantled if they don’t comply).
