Am at the point where I have more understanding of the Tories than Labour. Convinced they have no idea what they stand for or are meant to stand for.

Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".

Exactly, and add limited training to lack of experience. All easy see if you want to, but of course headlines that scare and get clicks are the priority.

100%, would not take much analysis to reveal the genesis of the issue, prolonged real terms prison/justice cuts and loss of experienced staff, but easier to stick to a tabloid style the highly paid presenters seem happy to embrace.

I have to say I'm listening less & less to #r4today. They've gone to tabloid, they could've done a bit of a deep dive on prisons & problems. But we've a presenter who knows nothing berating a junior minister who knows nothing. I can get all the ill informed BS I need on SM I expect more from #BBC.

He calls himself a "democratic socialist", why is that not the description used on the BBC?

Notable how R4Today have judt described him as a 'Radical candidate' framing social justice policies as some bizarre pursuit.

I'm just asking questions.

It's the absence of pushback to the lies within 'mainstream media' that worries me most. Direction of the BBC is especially troubling.
