Bottom line: soldiers follow orders. Unless the most senior commanders, from the Joint Chiefs down, make a stand and refuse to obey a Presidential order, either directly or through the Secretaries of War, State or Homeland Security, then it's game over. Furthermore, they must refuse to be dismissed.
