I have gmed this game like ten times now and It's easier than 5e and many narrative games I already played.
Monsters do a lot of stuff but they are very very simple, no ac, or spell slots to track or remember.
You need only to track Malice, and If you forget, just eyeball it.

Actually the bulk of the Draw Steel worldbuilding is found in the Monster Book.

We will have to see.
I really like their core rules, and I am awaiting weird indie games that use their system.
(Which looking into their homebrew scene is very likely to happen moderately soon).

And honestly I would never design a game for a world.
I would design for genre, and those are two separate things.

Idk what is your original RPG scene, but I strongly prefer games like Troika, Into the Odd and such, which just imply setting. Also probably why I bounced of Numenera in the end.
And like I am not going to play in Orden, because I have my own world (part 1)

Sorry for chaotic replies.. yeah, I think Orden is pretty self consistent but u are right that timescape conects to it very weirdly and, I agree that they need to explain a bit more about this part.

I usually dislike sandersonian hard-magic worldbuilding (especially if done by someone else than sanderson). And I am glad that magic works mostly on themes and vibes and has little connection to mechanics.
That's how I like it.

Oh okay... I think I heard orden being called a theme park world. Where each region is an attraction based on the most well known historical cultures.
I think it's done respectfully but I do agree that it's not the most interesting thing ever.
I do love their deep lore tho...

I love DS and I am probably very biast but I think it is on par if not better compared to other companies.
My fav writer in rpgs is Zedeck Siew, but I think Collvile is the second.

If I were too make new art-pack for Draw Steel monsters, instead of player ancestries, what kind of monsters would You like to see?
I would prefer to do a mix of monsters, so we are not talking a specific band, but more random assembly of creatures.
