🚨New research network on Africa: Last year, we founded the "International Politics in Africa" (IPIA) network, w/ Mwita Chacha (Birmingham), Eniye Dubakeme (Baze University), Consolata Sulley (Dar es Salaam) & others, after ASAUK 2024. It's been fairly low key so far, but we want to expand: 1/6

And now we get to watch as potentially epoch changing events occur. There's a very 19th Century feel about the sight of the US and Russia discussing European borders. Though rather than Vienna or Berlin, modern day statecraft apparently happens in Saudi. 5/5
