"Took it once? Then it won't harm you in any way!" she hissed, snatching up the dagger and sticking it into Anaris' chest. She was sure this was another of his tricks, but she still faltered slightly at the last moment.

"I'm not going to kill you! Your stupidity will do it much faster!" she growled irritably, breaking free. Why did they call themselves "her favorite death"? It didn't matter, though.
"Just stay away from me!" she created a rift and walked away, trying not to think about how it felt like an escape.

+ The Allfather's wrath will burn me until I die. Or until I earn forgiveness."

Bellara felt a vague unease at their words. Like something was clawing at her mind. But their talk of escape was complete nonsense. "You have no idea what you're talking about! You don't think I can just settle down somewhere and live happily ever after like in the books? +

Bellara winced slightly, her body remembering perfectly how her loyalty had been obtained. But she wasn't about to talk about it.
"If I say 'yes, myself,' will you stop running and let me achieve my goal?" Her mockery hid the strange embarrassment she felt as she looked at him.

+She walks into the library, mindlessly leading Lilya after her, and when Bel finally notices she's still holding Lilya's hand, she lets go, feeling awkward. "You... can stay."

"Expanded?" Bellara bites her lip, trying to figure out what's missing from her memory. "What do I remember? Pain." Her eyes flash red for a moment, her memory holding the memories of the dream, but what came before is blocked from her. +

Bellara froze; his voice right in her ear, his presence nearby, didn't feel wrong. But she stubbornly pulled away and turned to catch Anaris' eye.
"I don't remember. But I know it's connected to you. That's enough for me."

"The All-father has no enemies, because they are all dead." She watched him warily, motionless, but his words roused her to rage. "I am not a slave! And your death will help me gain his forgiveness!" Several bolts of lightning shot from her fingers.

+Bellara waved her hand around. She remembered only the library, every book in which she had personally carried. But not everything else.

"Brought you?" Bellara watched her, puzzled. "Lilya..." The name didn't evoke any memories, but Bellara caught her hand before the elf could leave.
"Well, Lilya... if you say I brought you. Then you should know why my shelter looks... like this." +

Bellara asked, thinking the name might jog her memory. But before she could react to Vince's words, they took her hand and placed a knife in it.
"What are you-?" the words froze on her lips, her eyes widening slightly as she watched the letters appear on skin.
"Why?" she looked into their eyes

+But the mention of Anaris made Bellara hiss furiously. "Because of him, the Allfather rejected me! This is my punishment!"

Bellara watched Vinny; they clearly weren't frightened by the tentacles' appearance. A smile touched her lips as they greeted Blight. "You understand I have no reason to trust you, right? I haven't..." Judging by Blight's demeanor, they truly did know each other. +

Bellara stared at the elf. "Who are you and why are you here?" Magic danced at her fingertips, ready to burst forth at any moment.

Bellara looked at her in confusion. "Wings? A long time ago." She peered at the elf, noticing that she was possessed.
"Interesting. Did Lord Elgar'nan send you?"

"What the hell?" She took a step back, somewhat confused, as he easily freed himself from the tentacles' grasp. Lightning began to crackle again at her fingertips.
"You're an enemy of the Allfather, and therefore of me! You can't be..." She trailed off.

"Even if you're telling the truth... I don't remember you. And if I fail the Allfather again, I will be punished."

Bellara herself didn't know why she kept listening. Vinny's story was strange and a little disjointed. Pearls, an octopus friend? Her only friend was Blight.
Suddenly, she noticed something. While she was listening, the tentacles had crept closer and were now touching Vinny's leg, +

"What. Did. You. Say?!" The tentacle's grip loosened just enough for him to speak. The new lightning crackling in her hands vanished. That might explain the mark on her body, but it was impossible. "You're lying!"

+"Then you'll be one of the first to die," she remarked in response to Vincent's words. "What's your name?"

Bellara frowned. It had happened before, when she'd made a mistake, it would be followed by punishment, after which she'd need some time for everything to fall into place. But now her memory wasn't jumbled, it was... empty.

"Why listen?! Because that's the meaning of my existence. I was created to serve him and carry out his will." Bellara looked confused as Vinny reached out to her. "We have nothing to talk about..." she said, a little less confidently than she intended.

+"Run while you can. When the All-father comes here, everyone will burn."

'What do you remember?' the question stuck in her head. She remembered her duty. And the pain, because she'd made a mistake. Bellara bit her lip; something was wrong. This was a new world, but what was she doing here?

"I escaped?!" The very thought of it pained Bellara, and she flinched, feeling the sun burn her again. "I don't know your name. But if you dare speak disrespectfully of Lord Elgar'nan again, I will kill you. But now..."
The tentacles loosened, releasing Vincent. +

Bellara already knew what was on her shoulder. The mark because of which the All-father had abandoned her. Her eyes flashed with hatred. "Anaris?!" The next moment, a lightning ball flew at his head, and the tentacles, obeying her command, tightened around his neck.

With each word, the surprise on Bellara's face grew. "Complete nonsense! I would never..." Something flashed through her mind when they said "ruby sunset," but it was gone.
"Anyway, I don't have time to bother with you. I need to fulfill the will of the All-father and kill the Forgotten One."
