LA CONS
-Traffic is daunting. Things are far away.
-Natural disasters are real and they will happen.

-Weather and outdoor culture - nature, beaches, parks.
-Leader in creative industries.
-In a great spot in the country/world - driving distance to many wonderful national parks, equidistant from Europe and Asia.

NYC CONS
-The weather is awful.
-The city does not maintain its facilities (particularly infrastructure) well.
-People are arrogant about the city. They’ll call it pride, but every city has pride to some degree. This is arrogance.

NYC PROS
-The food (other than Mexican and some others) is truly 2nd to none.
-People are family oriented.
-Plenty of options for getting around (transit).
-Diversity and opportunity
-Wonderful art scene, public art is always changing and improving.

I’ve lived in the NY metropolitan area for 20 years (mostly as a child) and the LA metro area for 22 years, as an adult. I’ve also regularly visited the NY area since moving to LA (at least twice a year, other than Covid). Here are my pros and cons of each metro area.

Trump and Newsom on the tarmac at LAX reminded me of Obama and Christie during Hurricane Sandy. Newsom was uncomfortably polite to Trump, but Trump was also not a monster. Hoping for good results.

Could always just withdraw from contact with the person. There are no laws saying you must engage. When people stop talking to me who once did, I get what they’re saying and I move on. BTW I grew up in NJ. πŸ‘πŸΌ
