My take: The Venezuela strikes are being orchestrated by Miller, Vance, Hegseth and Rubio. Trump had no idea until he learned about it a short time ago on Fox News. Now he's offering his own opinion.

Even George Washington never engaged in a military operation without congressional approval.

Remember, too, that military intervention in Venezuela would almost certainly be illegal under international law.

Brief reminder (in case we start attacking Venezuela at any moment): We're not at war with Venezuela. They don't in any way pose a serious national security threat to us. They have an odious leader and a terrible regime. But if that were grounds to attack another nation we would be in deep trouble.
