In a democracy, we are supposed to feel like we have control over our lives because the people control the government.

But in the U.S., people feel like our lives are out of control because the people don’t control the federal government.

In any other period of time, many of those people named in that info dump would be publicly executed by a furious proletariat. There'd be oil paintings and sculptures commissioned to depict their shameful downfalls.

The people currently in power, and I don't just mean the elected officials, I'm also talking about media heads, financiers, and the rest of the corporate oligarchy, want us to vent on social media, and then chill out/give up on combating this whole pedo ring they're all in.

There's nothing to explain. They capitulated to a fascist regime by preventing American citizens from experiencing the reaction from the rest of the world. You don't have to explain things like collaborating when it happens, it's tautological.
