Isn’t it just simple for Starmer et al to say that old, well understood fact: “There is no such thing as complete freedom to do and say what you want because one person’s freedom to do that can mean another person’s loss of freedom from living without abuse, fear or worse”. Draw your lines.

The far-right mob in London paled into insignificance compared to our Remain marches. Especially the one in 2018. Between 700,000 and a million people turned out. The Labour front bench stayed away. They also ignored its message. But the voters who took part in it haven't disappeared.

My rule of thumb is that a protest is not newsworthy if it draws a smaller crowd then I would get at a Lib Dem event for a session titled 'Why the British Standard for letterboxes is a failure'.

But looking at the news, I see my rule of thumb is once again failing.

🚨 White supremacism is not “normal.” Believing that some humans were born to work in fields while others (white ppl) are not is gross. White nationalism cannot be normalized!

A key point about democracy is that you don’t deny people the vote because they disagree with you (unless you’re D. Trump). People have the vote regardless of views and then you seek to persuade them of your views.

So ageism is OK with you whilst (presumably?) racism, sexism etc are not. Each is lumping people together and denying them rights/equality because of a label/definition.

Is government ‘sitting on’ damning report into learning disabled people’s deaths? The health secretary is under growing pressure to release a long-delayed report into the deaths of learning disabled and autistic people in England.
