Is that a service ghetto, lumping people together on the basis of a label society has given them - or am I missing something?

Best to keep your distance from Corbyn. He's toxic to most pro-EU voters.

The Guardian view on Conservative party conference: Kemi Badenoch’s last shot at relevance | Editorial Editorial: The Tory leader’s warped analysis of why her party is unpopular has lead her into strategic misjudgments and terrible policy choices

Nigel Farage claim:

"We are not the world's food bank, it is not for us to provide welfare to people coming in from all over the world"

Reality:

The average migrant on the Skilled Worker visa had a net fiscal impact of +Β£16,300 in 2022/23. In contrast, the average UK-born adult had about +Β£800

a black and white photo of a crowd of people with a sign that says walter ALT: a black and white photo of a crowd of people with a sign that says walter

In the late 19th century, millions of migrants left Germany as a result of religious persecution, economic hardship, and political uncertainty.

Among them was Nikolaus Schrod, a cabinet maker from Frankfurt who - along with his wife Bina - moved to London to start a new life in the 1850s. 1/3

Very odd watching BBC News talking about the Lib Dem conference and mentioning how the party has struggled to break through in the media like it's nothing to do with them.

"Put Up Some Fences" - Marsh Family parody of "Walking in Memphis" about Donald Trump UK State Visit
YouTube video by Marsh Family "Put Up Some Fences" - Marsh Family parody of "Walking in Memphis" about Donald Trump UK State Visit

Here's a parody adaptation of the classic song "Walking in Memphis" by the soulful Marc Cohn, in which we address Donald Trump's arrival in the UK for his exciting historic second state visit.

It's called "Put Up Some Fences" 🎹🎢

Isn’t it just simple for Starmer et al to say that old, well understood fact: β€œThere is no such thing as complete freedom to do and say what you want because one person’s freedom to do that can mean another person’s loss of freedom from living without abuse, fear or worse”. Draw your lines.

Here are the alternatives.
The world's richest man with a history of racism, white supremacy, fascism, political corruption, social media manipulation and election interference calls for the violent overthrow of the British government.
Starmer can either:
A. Pretend it didn't happen
B. Do something

The far-right mob in London paled into insignificance compared to our Remain marches. Especially the one in 2018. Between 700,000 and a million people turned out. The Labour front bench stayed away. They also ignored its message. But the voters who took part in it haven't disappeared.

Want to be clear that the predictable violence against the police wasn't the only problem with yesterday's march

It's that 100,000 angry racists gathered in London for the biggest racist march in 50 years, and anyone not white had to steer clear

The govt can't see that because they are inadequate.

My rule of thumb is that a protest is not newsworthy if it draws a smaller crowd then I would get at a Lib Dem event for a session titled 'Why the British Standard for letterboxes is a failure'.

But looking at the news, I see my rule of thumb is once again failing.

Her company’s co-ownership structure made 70 of her staff millionaires. Her son was autistic with high support needs so she founded a residential home and two charities. She gave away Β£70m of her own wealth through her charitable foundation, art in hospitals, IT and more. She was also STYLISH AF.

The protesters in Parliament Square were not inciting violence and it is entirely disproportionate to the point of absurdity to be treating them as terrorists.

A key point about democracy is that you don’t deny people the vote because they disagree with you (unless you’re D. Trump). People have the vote regardless of views and then you seek to persuade them of your views.

So ageism is OK with you whilst (presumably?) racism, sexism etc are not. Each is lumping people together and denying them rights/equality because of a label/definition.

Is government β€˜sitting on’ damning report into learning disabled people’s deaths? The health secretary is under growing pressure to release a long-delayed report into the deaths of learning disabled and autistic people in England.

More shocking stories about avoidable deaths.

Excellent reporting by Ruben Reuter:
"Cases like Nigel are exactly why the LeDeR reports exist, shining a light on failings and pushing for change. But this year it still hasn't been published."

Surely you can’t add immigration & channel crossings together to get a figure that is then the second highest of all issues?People were asked to choose more than one so, almost certainly, it was the same people choosing both, making it seem twice as important to the population than it actually is.
