So The Simpsons honor the great city of Philadelphia, and all we can do is nitpick on what they left out. Oh Philly lol

Like this is the first time i have ever heard Susan Collins being called an "extremist".. really don't have to reach for straws to make a point

The dismantling of ICE may simutaneously cause a financial crisis in the warehousing industry as these companies are saddled with a warehouse that almost no company is going to want to touch afterwards. It would be like building a business after remodeling a concentration camp. JFC.

Dems need to get more publicly vocal with Fetterman. If he's gonna switch parties, make him do it pre-election. I have a feeling this guy is gonna do it

Regarding AI: I have never seen two groups fight so dishonestly in my life. Neither the AI proponents nor haters are being truthful. AI *is not* ChatGPT, nor is it ready for unsupervised work. But it is improving far faster than before, so your opinion might already be outdated. It's really sad.

This Friday dump of in-house Noem oppo is an admission by a group of folks in the Admin that the president is massively unpopular, so unpopular that the GOP is losing in red states. They know the president doesn't fire lackeys, so they are doing all they can to make it impossible for her to stay.

CBP official Rodney Scott faces ire of Noem and Lewandowski Those involved said NoemΒ and Corey Lewandowski tried to push out Customs and Border Protection's Rodney Scott over disagreements.

Something is about to happen at DHS. Now the Washington Examiner is out with their own reporting. There is some kind of internal revolt in the Admin, and it looks like it's directed at Kristi Noem. This is in ADDITION to the earlier WSJ reporting. Hmm. www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/investi...

To say I am optimistic about the short term but extremely pessimistic about the long term viability of the US political system as is would be an understatement. Our system IS the problem, but how do you get 33+ states to agree?

And this comes from somebody who really isn't religious. BUt it's very evident that something much deeper than just a man in the white house or a single party is the problem here - and a change won't make everything automatically better. It's a deep rot.

Hate to sound like Marianne Williamson, but this country is also broken morally and spiritually. Look at how we treat neighbors; we have vague ideas of "community", but nothing like that of other countries. Most have no concept of being selfless and are instead selfish. A lot more than just politics

Well, who is going to take it from Gallup then. If they want to acquiesce, fuck em. Plenty of good researchers there that can be put to work at another firm. And let's be honest here, Gallup polling doesn't have the same meaning it did 20 years ago.. plenty of great firms now.

Yeah, but you need to look at 2020 numbers, married women (and white women) were one of the few groups to move towards Dems. So it's a little more complex than leaning red, and probably VERY important for 2026 and 2028 should the trend continue.

And then in a caucus THAT large you're gonna get factional warfare for sure. Personally, I'm hoping for something in the middle of what it looks like now and the worst case scenario for the GOP.

The GOP is really close to a 280-300 seat Dem House caucus (Dems are at least good for 230 already), and there still is math for a landslide like that even in this environment. But the GOP that will be left will be as extreme as ever, so we should be careful what we wish for.

Pam Bondi must be prosecuted. And I am willing to bet that we'll end up getting her for something they won't think we'd try. Trust me, these people are fucking stupid.

AGI isn't important. What's important is coding, which is what AI is. When it can code well, things get very interesting.

Something Big Is Happening A personal note for non-tech friends and family on what AI is starting to change.

I highly suggest reading this. AI skeptics work on inaccurate data pushed by some extremely loud voices. While they're blathering about ChatGPT, the rest of the industry's moved on. I've noticed it too. Even basic coding models are producing shippable code now. shumer.dev/something-bi...

Goldman Sachs lawyer says she didn't represent Epstein. But she gave him a wealth of legal advice. Emails have revealed Jeffrey Epstein lavished gifts upon Kathryn Ruemmler, but also received something valuable: legal advice from a nationally prominent attorney.

I knew sooner or later this was going to drag in the Obama White House. www.ms.now/news/goldman...

I think the question is no longer whether Trump is going to be thrown out of office. The unknown at this point is whether it's removal after impeachment, resignation (completely plausible given Trump's history of cut and running), or death. Any of those three is possible.

Odd how they teach in foreign languages here that "American" means "US"... like in Spanish, "soy americano." So I was really not saying what I thought I was! Then again, doesn't surprise me we'd do something like that, unfortunately.

Pro-Trump Pollster Stuns With New Approval Numbers President Donald Trump was hit with negative negative numbers this week from a polling firm that is typically considered far more favorable to the president.

I can't see how this doesn't point to a 40+ seat gain in the House and likely control of the Senate. And Ras has been showing this for about a week now. I think it was a voter-screen change because they know the GOP isn't going to show up. www.mediaite.com/media/news/t...

Trump threatens to block opening of new bridge between Ontario and Michigan | CBC News U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to block the opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge, poised to become the newest border crossing between Windsor, Ont., and Detroit.

This is what is losing Trump support from his core base. The guy is not well at all. Needs to be removed. Everybody sees it now. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Like half the reason AI won’t fail is you have β€œanti AI” people like this telling people half the story. Trust me, Ed doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or is literally propping AI up through his own business. Bluesky has made this guy more notable than he is (or is truthful about).

No, again AI isn’t ChatGPT, AI was already substantial prior to ChatGPT. It’s already huge. You are literally lying to people which is no better than the industry. Please stop speaking out of both sides of your mouth, because your PR firm is representing AI companies! AI is not going to collapse.

The only reason they are two continents is millions of years ago they were two, its one continous one now. I read somewhere if it wasn't for the Darien Gap you'd be able to drive from the Arctic Circle all the way down to the tip of SA almost.
