Ever seen so many tossers in one day before.

Got some amazing blood oranges at the farm shop today. I know though when I cut into them I’m going to be disappointed.

Our whole house needs doing to be honest. Painting and papering, it’s looking very tired. Unfortunately, the whole house was completely done when we moved in as it was in a state of disrepair, we were hugely over budget and had to cut corners. Now we’re paying for that, everything needs doing again

Having lived in our house for 10 years, the times come to start decorating again. The walls are awful, so only option is to paper them I’ve never been too adventurous with interior design, and I lack the gay gene that gives you design and fashion superpowers. I do like the blue and pink paper though

500g Extra strong (Canadian flour-available at M&S)
100g Active Starter
350ml water
10g salt

It’s bit of a mosh up of various recipes. I’m now using extra strong (Canadian) bread flour, and more water (350 ml rather than 325ml). The results were instant… I’ve never had the dough completely inflate to fill my banneton before.

No, it was a recipe I found on instagram and liked the sound of it.

Ah thanks. I wasn’t that impressed with the loaf. It’s quite tart from the lemon, I’d probably feel inclined to add a bit of sugar next time. It baked really well though and was so simple.

I’m turning what’s left into bread and butter pudding!

Much better now thank you. Had an xray last week so just waiting for the results, but it is dying off now at long last. My biggest concern is catching it yet again from my other half, as he’s quite unwell 😬

Other half has now come down with a stinking cold, so recent the weekend baking.

Probably the best sourdough I’ve made so far (used a different recipe and method) and a blueberry & lemon loaf.

I’ve watched it twice. The first few episodes are slow, but it just keeps getting better and better.

I’m painfully introverted and find it very difficult to hold a conversation so initially turned him down, but he requested again this year and I agreed to give it a go. Probably the only time my voice will be heard online, and I won’t be listening myself 😆

3rd of 8 Hippeastrums to flower. I’ve been holding them back in my cool garage so I can enjoy them one by one, but they are all pushing up buds now. I think I’m going to have to bring them all in and have one massive grand finale!

Had a trip to the dentist so they can assess the damage. Fortunately, it’s a clean break apparently so it can be saved. Best option is a ceramic overlay which will set me back (estimated) £652. 😩

Made a sourdoogh. Accidentally bought the wrong flour and my kitchen is quite cold so takes an age for both the starter (Doughrothy) and resulting dough to proof. Bit dense (due to the wrong flour) but not too shabby. A couple slices now whilst warm and the rest for the weekend with Turkish Eggs.
