I think it's just out of simple ignorance.

I think there are three separate ideas out there, and while I get the politics of shorthand, using the same term ("abolish") to refer to three different ideas strikes me as risky.

1. Abolish ICE.
2. Abolish CBP.
3. Abolish DHS.

In each case, the word means something different.
