Idk the origins of the term. I personally love cats, so I am not a fan of it. That's just what the financial industry calls it. Just like why is a bull a symbol for an uptrend market and bear downtrend? Same thing.

But for as long as we live in a deeply flawed dog eat dog society, it will be easier to taint people and use their hatred to blind them and turn them against each other.

My personal theory is that the best way to get people to see the light only will happen when people see their world materially change in their lives for the better. And then realize that the hatred doesn't matter, and we're all the same and deserve a dignified human existence with basic needs met.

I don't think that it takes a messiah to make a difference. I support candidates/policies I believe will make a difference and make my positions known to anyone who will listen. But I personally can't change the hearts/minds of people who won't listen and are closed off due to hatred.

The drug of racism etc is apparently strong. I still have faith that many can see the light when presented with a truly transformative change candidate that represents good instead of evil. But we've yet to see that on the presidential level at least.

It's not the majority. I'd say more plurality. But that won't change the results/effects of it. The only optimism I can cling to is that just how bad it's getting could accelerate positive progress in the opposite direction? But that might be more wishful thinking than anything.

It's a great step in the right direction. But there needs to be massive primaries coming in the next few years also. Too many in the Democratic party are not up to the task of doing the will of the base/American people. There should be widespread primary pressure from the base against incumbents.
