Iβm glad you enjoyed it!
I didnβt actually know that people other than myself use this world. Iβm kinda motivated to fix it up now as there are a few things that are broken/annoying if I remember correctly.

Thanks for this. Bakery is the #1 thing I really the absence of since I switched to Linux. Glad to know that this is possible with the built in baking.

Have fun paying $1000+ for your yearly checkup instead of the $25 copay.

I am excited to be able to offer this free and open source under the MIT license. If you use it to make something cool I'd love to see!

I've been using Wayland only with NVIDIA and there are some definite pain points, but everything (except VR) works nicely. And VR works too, just not nicely.
16.09.2025 23:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The major limitation with the VRChat SDK is that it doesn't support build + test (offline testing), though personally this didn't impact me much as I already usually would upload test versions of my worlds.
16.09.2025 23:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I use the Linux Unity client with ALCOM for VRChat world dev.
I've heard that AMD gpus generally play nicer with linux, but I only have an NVIDIA gpu so I can't confirm myself.
As for Bakery, it's Windows + NVIDIA only, and I haven't found any examples of anyone getting it to work otherwise.
And finally, for VRChat, make sure to use an up to date version of GE-Proton otherwise video players will likely not work.
16.09.2025 23:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's a shame because most everything else (including non-VR video games) work flawlessly and/or have fantastic alternatives that are just better.
Speaking of which, Unity works just fine natively, but the one thing I miss more than anything else is the Bakery plugin, as that does not work.
Having made the switch earlier this year, VR kinda sucks sadly but is still usable. I recommend checking out Linux VR Adventures for help, but in my experience, Envision/ALVR gets you most of the way there out of the box (for wired/wireless respectively).
16.09.2025 23:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0In my estimation, a lot of the people who have problems with Bluesky are so used to platforms just serving up the content buffet that they're unwilling to do the work to have a good experience here.
That work is the social part of social media.
This is really important for safety too. Someone not being willing to put even a small amount of extra effort into their relationships is a major red flag that they may be malicious. And even if it's not malice, I'd rather surround myself with people who do care enough to put in that extra effort.

Yeah. The cause is something I'm doing to save FPS, but it not appearing in the VRChat camera is a result of this bug: feedback.vrchat.com/sdk-bug-repo...
14.08.2025 23:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's actually strange and might be a bug. Was it in game, or in a photo that it didn't render?
If it's in a photo taken with VRChat's camera, that's a bug on their end that I can't really do anything about. Otherwise, it's probably a bug on my end that I'm not aware of.
In a few hours, we have our big load test to break our previous record of 293, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. still room to join in on the fun! discord.gg/v6ve6WT562

I've really enjoyed "Write a Letter" by Elliot112. Lots of love and also pain engraved into that world.
As of right now, there's two things, one of which is in a slightly more obvious location than the other.

12.07.2025 17:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There are no indicated sound effects in this comic, so the sounds are up to your imagination. Panel 1: Hatsune Miku, Akita Neru, and Kasane Teto are on stage performing their song Triple Baka, with Miku pointing forward towards the crowd, Neru tapping on her phone, and Teto singing contently. Teal, yellow, and red lights shine into the sky behind them. Panel 2: The crowd is going wild, many hands with glowsticks in the. A few people are wearing Miku and Teto t-shirts. The Neru cosplayer girl from the previous comic is on her dad's shoulders to get a better view of the concert. Panel 3: The exterior of the amphitheater-esque concert venue. It's by a grassy park on one side and a body of water on the other. A few lit windows of the city they're in can be seen in the background. There's a sign on the wall of the venue that says "SHOW!!" with a long blue triangle and a short red triangle on it. A blue, yellow, and red spotlight shine out of the venue into the night sky, which is opalescent and littered with different shaped stars and galaxies. Panel 4: We pan farther up into that colorful night sky and words appear, reading: Your effect on the world matters no matter who remembers it and how

11.07.2025 01:28 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As far as I can tell, this is a bug with how I'm rendering the tower for performance reasons: feedback.vrchat.com/sdk-bug-repo...
The issue is already tracked, so we can only hope that VRChat gets around to fixing it eventually.
The world is simply called "Monument" :)
07.07.2025 22:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The migration is complete! Was kinda scary to migrate a running project to a different service while also completely rewriting the server, but it all worked out in the end. I feel like I've gained quite a lot of empathy for cloud devs through this experience.
03.07.2025 20:25 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The bad new is that I kinda need to get back to work and optimize things because my server is dying from the load. Though that seems like a good problem to have.
02.07.2025 23:01 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's been 24 hours since the first brick was laid on the monument, over 65 thousand bricks have been placed!
Don't expect many size updates because the whole point is for the tower to be unquantifiable. But I am so overjoyed at how many people seem to be enjoying it that I felt compelled to share.
I am excited to announce the launch of my new #VRChat world, Monument!
Help us build a really big tower one brick at a time. The tower is synced across all instances, so each brick you place will increase its height for everyone who joins the world.
I really hope it will one day reach the sky.
Then again, I am biased in this regard, because I personally don't value my immersion in LARP that highly compared to other things, and am willing to break a scene over small things.
It's been a challenge to be respectful of the fact that for many people, that is the main reason that they LARP.
