The finale of the great TV comedy show Blackadder goes Forth.
Back then I didn't expect one of the funniest programmes ever to end with a scene that makes me cry every time I see it.
Every single time.

Born #OTD 1896, Dorothy Lawrence was a journalist determined to report from the front line of World War One. So she posed as a man and made her way to the heart of the conflict. Hear her story in our Women and War podcast: tinyurl.com/yu4yedh6 #history #womenshistory

I've been researching the journalist Dorothy Lawrence for many years but have only now been able to fill the key gaps in her story. Hopefully soon I will be sharing the details with the wider world.
