Thankfully there are some solid open source alternatives out there: Ryot, Yamtrack, MediaTracker, Watcharr.

Media tracker app @trakt.tv is forcing all paid users onto their new $60/y pricing. This comes after the free tier was crippled earlier in the year. Users are cancelling en masse. Reasonable posts on their subreddit are being deleted by moderators. This is how you kill a service. #trakt

I've been enjoying SearXNG for a while now, it's particularly great if you customise your settings a little, and you can even self-host it searx.space

This is why I couldn't be less interested in AI music. I listen to music to think about the people who created it and to talk about it with other people who are listening to exactly the same pieces. It's only good because other people are involved, even and especially when listening alone.

And that's just from a few episodes... imagine if you were a podcaster with thousands of episodes under your belt, I'd hate to see that person's favorability!

I haven't finished listening to this yet (I'm carefully savouring it) but may I say it's a complete delight as always.

A lot of people complain about anachronistic trailer music but when it works it works!

I currently use a search aggregator (searxng) and I'm consistently finding that the results pulled from google are less relevant and useful than those from duckduckgo, brave and sometimes even bing. There's been a huge shift.

And it has one of the best original scores of this century

As someone who's used Trakt for 12 years, I'm pretty disappointed with the direction they're taking.

1) Tom Cruise creates one of the most expensive pieces of anti-AI propaganda ever.
2) A YouTube channel uses AI to create a dreadful "concept trailer" for it and gets over a million views in two days.
