a small dog wearing a black and orange bandana, collar, and leash sits on a leafy dirt path and looks up at us with large brown eyes. she's white with brown spots on her ears and eyes. she has brown speckles on her left paw, and her right paw is actually a bright orange webbed duck foot. she likes to have fun with her prosthetics.

This is Autumn. She was born without one paw. Gets along just fine with three, but still sometimes uses a prosthetic leg when she wants to blend in. 13/10

Opening Line is the culmination of all the work I've done running Broken Sleep Books. This sums up everything I've wanted to achieve, which is to ensure poetry is available and accessible to all, regardless of the barriers that are too often imposed.

A book cover with a dark blue background. The title, maybe i’ll call gillian anderson, is displayed at the top in lowercase red serif font, with the author's name, Rhian Elizabeth, in a smaller red serif font beneath it. The central image features a bright red retro telephone handset hanging from a coiled cord, suspended in mid-air. At the bottom, the publisher’s name, Broken Sleep Books, appears in red serif text.

PREORDER (31.05.2025):

Rhian Elizabeth’s maybe i’ll call gillian anderson is a raw, darkly funny, and deeply affecting collection that navigates the liminal spaces of love, loss, and reinvention.
