I am just tired of seeing this game means so much to me turn into something else. I met most of my friends through it. Characters like Ral & Tomik and Alesha and Chandra & Nissa hold dear places in my heart. I want to love the game but time and time again WoTC tells me they don't care about me.

When bloomburrow came out last year I was really excited to play standard, but while my cards for my otter deck were in the mail they announced UB would be put in standard going forward, killing any interest i had in that format and in any others affected. I pretty much just draft and play edh now.

I love Kieran Yanner, I was the 2nd backer for his Kickstarter, but I missed my chance on his secret lair because I missed the launch by a day. I love Avatar but can't even buy the box I wanted to split with my friend because no one has any for sale. These products are for me, I just can't buy them.

I think stopping caring is the biggest problem. Anger is usually a flash in the pan but apathy lasts much longer. I've been playing since 2013 and I just can't engage with the game the way I want to. I don't like most UB but I have to skip stuff I'd otherwise like because of price or availability

I haven't seen this graph and this is probably the most easy critique of the idea possible, but it is'nt shocking to me that there are less people identifying themselves as trans when the political climate is openly hostile to us. If the climate was more like it was a few years ago I'd be out by now

I think the main reason is just that games (at least video games) require an exceptional amount of work and getting things right just to function, most of the time. Someone can jump right into singing or drawing with literally no experience but if you did the same with video games you'd struggle
