If the sputtering contraption that is our constitutional republic lasts long enough for even half-way decent people to be in control, again, maybe they can pass a law that says something to the effect of "if congress doesn't pass a new budget, spending continues at previously-approved levels."

It’s one question, and it’s easy. Voting no is like putting your hands down, while someone is getting ready to punch you in your face. You might have a moment of feeling like the better person, but you’re still definitely getting punched. Yes on 50!

It's really awesome to have multiple moments every fucking day of being the most furious I have ever been at other humans, because they voted for all of this.

In the past 24 hours, I've been in Manchester, NH, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. All were 50s/raining. If this is all a simulation, it's a really lazy one.

Oh, man. I had the opportunity to work with him on prints of his work, at my day job. Beyond being an incredible artist, he was one of the most genuinely kind people I’ve met in the art world. Such a tremendous loss.

I mean... there are no discernible sexual characteristics at all, in this painting. Again, WTF?

This is very much not an "explicit sexual image." WTF?

Back 2000, I didn’t know any other painters who lived near me. It was the only year since I graduated art school that I didn’t exhibit my work somewhere. But every day when I came home from my soul-sucking office job, I went into the studio and gave it all I had. A year later, I’d find a gallery in DC interested in showing my stuff. This one ended up in my first solo show, there. I’ve learned a lot more since then, but I still like this weird thing I made, when I was still figuring out some of the basics of how to do this thing I do. An oil painting of a human torso on a stylized couch in an otherwise empty interior space. It has no head, just an opening in the neck. It has its arm around a box-like piece of machinery, whose cord trails off the couch and across the floor. A large hose comes out of the top of the box, curling around and depositing a greenish liquid into the torso’s neck orifice. The box has a slot for currency. The torso’s other hand holds som, ready to pay for more.

I just remembered... it was for an xmas themed show! A fine take on my least favorite holiday...

I finished this one 20 years ago. It was done for a group show in a gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, CA… an amazing art complex I’d wanted to get my stuff into since I moved out here. The painting sold at the collector’s preview, before the show even opened. I went on to have a few years worth of solo shows in that gallery (since closed). It’s weird to remember a time when everything seemed to be working out. An oil painting on 2 rhomboid canvases of a tiled interior space. The left has a disembodied head, eyes closed. A cord emerges from below the head, snakes around and points its plug at the right panel, which had a hand emerging from a hole in the floor, balancing a box on the end of an extended finger. The box has a receptacle for the plug.

Filled out my mail in ballot in CA, yesterday. I’ve never had a ballot with a single question, before. Voted “yes,” of course.

I got the final color for the dress in, and oiled out the background and her head to bring the color intensity back. Lots more little stuff to do on this commissioned piece, once it’s dried.

Not sure how that’s not just part of a Broadcast Journalism degree (which they offer. I knew folks in that program). Seems needlessly specialized, like if the College of Arts & Sciences offered a degree in “English Adjectives.”

Is it bad to hope that Trump does actually go after Schiff, so we can get a better senator? Probably. But the thought does occur...

I’m used to being cut off by jerks running lights. The metro train blowing through the intersection in front of me when I had a green light today was a new one, though. LA used to just not want me here. Of late, it’s actively trying to kill me.

So the president has told the leadership of our military that my city is an enemy in need of killing… so, you know, fuck each and every one of you who voted for this, or who couldn’t be bothered to vote to stop it.

Of course it was a white guy in a baseball hat who whipped his BMW SUV around me on the right at 2x the speed limit on a curve. The cherry on top was the "Baby On Board" sticker on the rear window. You know what I want to see most in this life? Consequences for entitled jerks, at long last.
