On the 6th of June we are hosting our first summer workshop - a day of talks from academics, practitioners and cultural figures to explore the extreme right and their impacts. Tickets are free, lunch is provided, and it should be a fantastic day.

Along with the University Archive we will be hosting the Northamptonshire Archives and Collections meetup on the 31st of July at 2pm - every 6 months we meet up, have cake and tea, and discuss what is going on with our local heritage groups and how we can support them.

On the 6th of June we will be hosting our first major summer event - a free day-long workshop bringing together academics with practitioners and professionals to discuss the extreme right. A year on from riots that played out across Britain, we have some fantastic speakers. Come join us!

Updated for 2025, this Extreme Right Aware CPD workshop will explore the history of the extreme right, help you identify extreme-right groups and messaging, and explore how they organise and campaign – including in the online space. The day-long CPD workshop offers an important introduction to those new to this area, will deepen knowledge, and acts as a refresher for those already experienced working on the extreme right. Lunch and refreshments are provided, and parking is available. Tickets are £20, and free tickets are available for charities and educational groups, or as incentives for group bookings. The Extreme Right Research Network (@errnetwork.bsky.social) has updated its Extreme Right Aware CPD training for 2025. Thanks to funding, tickets are only £20 and we have free tickets we can make available for charities, community groups etc. Led by @pnjackson.bsky.social, on 23rd May 2025.

It takes place on the 6th of June 2025, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, and is free to register. The event will explore key aspects of contemporary extreme right politics and will set a research agenda for the Extreme Right Research Network based on the issues raised by all participants. As well as workshop activities, there will be four keynote talks from Prof. Roger Griffin, Dr Sophie James, Mark Wilson and Rajesh Thind. We welcome a wide range of participants including academic researchers (including postgraduate and early career researchers), as well as practitioners and professionals such as journalists, policymakers, specialists from local government, charities and NGOs, and the policing and criminal justice sector.
