Four unidentified military-style drones breached no-fly zone to target Zelenskyy's arrival in Dublin
Gardaí are investigating whether the drones took off from land in Dublin or from an undetected ship.
“Ireland’s security services have found that the drones at Dublin Airport were large, hugely expensive, of military specification, and that the incident could be classed as a hybrid attack.”
From which we are undefended.

Spotify has laid off thousands in recent years, while reportedly paying artists $0.003 per stream.
Spotify profits rose 28% in Q3. Its CEO is worth $9.8 billion. It's making money off ICE recruitment ads.
Don't you think it's time put a wrap on corporate greed and exploitation?

Over the past five years, we've seen a steady increase in our sales of books in Irish, especially kids books. In January there was significant surge and the last two weeks have been astonishing with so many customers saying they want to revive their cúpla focail. These are the stongest sellers⬇️

Demolishing the East Wing of the White House before finalizing plans for what will be built above its ruins is a near-perfect metaphor for Trump's approach to economic policy. The only difference is the wrecking crew doesn’t claim the rubble is evidence of unprecedented growth.

Make Money Not War: Trump’s Real Plan for Peace in Ukraine
The Kremlin pitched the White House on peace through business. To Europe’s dismay, the president and his envoy are on board.
"By dangling multibillion-dollar rare-earth and energy deals, Moscow could reshape the economic map of Europe—while driving a wedge between America and its traditional allies"

How to stop the revolving door of German academia
Germany is one of the most popular destinations for students and scholars worldwide, but those pursuing academic careers face significant hurdles to success.
German academia: great place to work? You should think twice before giving it a try: Permanent positions are very rare, most scholars have to drop out after some precarious years. @dianakwon.bsky.social has written a great piece about this for @nature.com and also talked to yours truly. #IchBinHanna

Men aren’t vanishing from fiction. The truth is much more complicated
As debates over the ‘disappearing’ young male novelist rumble on, some authors and critics push back against claims that fiction has closed its doors to men. Hannah Ewens learns that the real problem ...
It took 7 yrs to find a publisher for my 1st novel because young women writers in the early 2000s weren't currency. Finally a balancing out & the menz are unhappy. Good points here:

I made a machine steal the work of a real human being. It's almost as if the stolen work it regurgitated seems like it was written by a real human being. Instead of giving that credit to the breathing person it was stolen from... perhaps the theft machine is actually alive??

The Murky Plan That Ensures a Future War
Who will benefit from the White House’s 28-point proposal for Ukraine?
For a decade, Russia has been seeking to divide Europe and America, to undermine NATO and weaken the transatlantic alliance. This peace plan, if accepted, will achieve that goal.

A painting of the British bombardment by Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg. The Battle of Copenhagen (also known as the Bombardment of Copenhagen) (16 August – 7 September 1807) was a British bombardment of the Danish capital, Copenhagen, in order to capture or destroy the Royal Dano-Norwegian Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. The incident led to the outbreak of the Anglo-Russian War of 1807, which ended with the Treaty of Örebro in 1812.
"Under a commission from the Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic government, Thorkelin had prepared Beowulf for publication by 1807. During the Battle of Copenhagen (1807) his house was burned and demolished due to fire, and the text (on which he had spent 20 years) was lost. ... Thorkelin began again."
