i still rocked that qwerty keyboard during the season 1 era. it's no wonder things have been nothing but downhill since then

i held out until 2015. i didn't want to give up my qwerty keyboard even though the phone attached was dogshit

i miss QWERTY phones so much. i can't really tell if it's my dexterity or gboard but i have been STRUGGLING to type the most basic sentences on my phone for a while now.

there are a lot of early ones (and modern ones, for that matter) that share the exact same menu style though. the super joy series and some earlier power joy consoles all seem to have been built on top of multicarts developed by "funtime". and that menu system was probably developed by someone else

menus are actually some of the more variable part of these things! this one was seemingly developed by a group of ex-subor developers (the same ones behind a bunch of those NES DDR games) and has a very unique and fun background youtu.be/brb5eVG0pR0

i think it's really cool how i somehow gained a very queer audience and then after i came out it became even more so

i think the prob here is that the game allows you to be so freeform and ignore the beaten path at times that i forget that i'm supposed to go where it wants me to when the design gets more rigid

i'm actually not sure if it's the way the av2hdmi handles the signal when resetting consoles that my capture card doesn't like but it always has this gradual desync. i'm pretty sure it's resetting that's doing it

i've been using that shitty av2hdmi thing and it *works* but i can do better
