When I worked in retail, first thing they'd tell you is once they're outside, leave them be and don't chase them...not only because they might hurt you, the employer isn't responsible for YOU chasing them. Shoplifters are annoying but not worth your safety/freedom.

Spouse and I both got titers tests. He had measles as a kid, I had chicken pox, and we were vaccinated for the rest. We both have strong immunity. I was an 80s/90s kid, him 70s/80s
