The 'netting' looks a bit rough compared to rest of paint job - nice edge highlights BTW. I like the idea of the painted on netting - not seen it before :)

That's interesting. I'm trying different textures out - I usually go matt but add a bit of gloss on shiny surfaces to make them pop more. (Possibly to help bolster my under-perfected painting skill)

This seems quite a common thing with the LI minis - never known quote so many hobbyists coming g up with better ways to assemble than the instructions :)

Have you ever experimented with matte varnish and satin/gloss varnish on a mini to give a different texture/finish to different sections of carapace?

I am in awe :) That's a nice bit of blending. I like how you've got some warmth into the purple. I field Emperor's Children too but I struggle to make purples pop
