I know we all make fun of their incompetence, but this is really breathtaking.

Arresting Black journalists is also vice signaling. Their base is racist and hates journalists and they want to get them excited again. The mainstream media industry has never protected Black journalists or journalists of color the way it should.

I study fascism. I’ve already fled America. On this week’s β€œMore To The Story,” former Yale philosophy professor Jason Stanley explains his recent move to Canada and calls the Trump administration’s takeover of the US government a β€œcoup.”

β€œA coup is happening in the United States.”

Jason Stanley, author of How Fascism Works, argues that President Donald Trump is leading an unlawful takeover of the US government.

Georgia Fort, an independent journalist and vice president of the Minnesota NABJ chapter, was also arrested by federal agents this morning

I was sent this video of agents at her door:

National Press Club President Mark Schoeff, Jr. today issued the following statement:

β€œThe National Press Club is deeply alarmed by the arrest of journalist Don Lemon by federal agents Thursday night in Los Angeles while he was covering the Grammy Awards.

Jailing a journalist for doing their job is dangerous β€” not only for press freedom, but for the public’s right to know. When reporters risk arrest for documenting events of public interest, the result is fewer witnesses, less accountability, and a more uninformed public.

Mr. Lemon’s arrest is linked to his reporting during a Dec. 18 protest at a Minnesota church that included speaking to the pastor, members of the church and protestors. Mr. Lemon was simply practicing the core elements of constitutionally protected journalism: documenting the protest and providing context for the actions unfolding before him. He has stated he was not part of the demonstration.

A magistrate judge previously declined to sign a criminal complaint related to that reporting, yet Mr. Lemon has remained subject to federal enforcement.

The National Press Club is also concerned by reports that other independent journalists may have been detained in connection with this coverage. If confirmed, such actions would signal a troubling pattern of targeting journalists for newsgathering.

Journalism is not a crime. Arresting or detaining journalists for covering protests, public events, or government actions represents a grave threat to press freedom and risks chilling reporting nationwide.

The world is watching closely, and the implications of this case extend far beyond any one reporter.

A teddy bear, an ice skate, a wife’s note: DCA crash relics return home A year after the deadly plane crash, first responders and families reflect on the moments after disaster, the grueling recovery effort and the toll it took.

When this crash happened, Trump and Vance et al immediately came out to blame the crash on affirmative action.

Not so different from calling Alex Pretti an assassin and Renee Good a domestic terrorist.

ICE Denies Detainee's Request to Attend His Son's Funeral, Attorney Says Maher Tarabishi was the primary caretaker of his son, Wael Tarabishi, 30, who died on Friday, Jan. 23, from complication

Maher Tarabishi was detained in October during a scheduled check-in at an ICE facility.

He was the primary caretaker of his son, who died last week.

The family is seeking Maher's release so he can attend his son's funeral.

ICE reportedly denied the request.

Unimaginable cruelty.
