I didn't go to the last show but I've been to a few, so I'm mentally comparing notes a bit. Always happy to learn a bit about how other attendees are experiencing the show!

Can you unpack "inequitable lottery distributions" for me a bit? Do you mean that some people win them multiple times and other people get nothing?

I think Americans, monolingual as we are in general, really don’t understand that translation is not a simple matter of looking up words in a dictionary. It’s much more art than science trying to capture things like tone and the nuance of the language of origin.

I have the hardest time believing that this is the author’s actual read on the situation. It has to be a willful misreading.

I will say that the one thing the lack is a dedicated team who handles convention. The D23 shows are all put together and run by people who have day jobs at Disney. I'd love to see them created a dedicated team of 10 or so to run the 4-5 conventions that they should be alternating among.
