I also don’t interact much with undergrads these days, so I suppose it could be the fashion, now. 🤷‍♀️

Definitely heard a lot about o-chem when I was an undergrad with roommates majoring in biology.

And don’t even get me started on an unending stream on institutional, federal, state, and local rules and regulations which are in a constant state of flux and under no obligation to make sense.

What we really need is an AI that can get us what we need from our upstream data providers (which is largely a political function) and another one that can drag the business requirements out of our end users (part politics, part psychology, part futility).

I’m not worried about being replaced; if I and the other people on our team could get even 2x productivity from AI we’d be thrilled. If we could get 1000x, we still wouldn’t run out of things to do.

We’re not getting 2x yet. Maybe 1.1x.

I've never heard orgo; sounds like a character name from a 1970's cartoon.

Disclaimer: not a chemist or a biologist, but have been at a major research university for eleventy billion years or so.

Can it measure particulates in a liquid, assuming some sort of flow cell? Where does it want the focus to be?

I started learning Norwegian for fun about 15 years ago. I'll never be fluent, and I'm ok with that, but now, every time I try to say something in Ukrainian, it comes out in Norwegian instead...
