...I have got a small amount of the same reverb on everything because the guitar did sound like it wasn't in the same 'space' as everything else (which of course, it wasn't). I might fiddle with that a bit more. But I just listened now & it sounds a lot lot better than before. Cheers!

Yes, I've done that with the panning. Basses & low notes are more in the middle though, because I don't think they clash with the guitar pitches. I also used an imager to reduce the stereo width of the guitar (after previously making it wider!)...

This one's a full orchestra (Spitfire Audio's BBCSO) with guitar & it's difficult to make the guitar clear against all the other stuff going on. I did have the guitar way too 'harsh' sounding to make it stand out. Now I've been using EQ on the orchestra with the guitar sidechained which works better

I've learnt a hell of a lot about mixing & mastering while working on my latest track. Mostly what I've learnt is that I'm crap at mixing & mastering.

There's no way in the early 80's Prince could have written, produced, played every instrument on a number of classic albums (for himself & others), toured & starred in films. My theory is there were a number of Prince's, probably genetically engineered (in a compact size to conserve material)...

Same here. I started working chronologically from the 50's about that time, starting with Kind of Blue & Giant Steps. I wouldn't have dreamed of listening to Jazz when I was young but now love both those albums. I'm up to 1986 now & there are signs that pop music is past it's best already.

One of the absolute best. I think most of my favourite's have a certain leaning into classical music.

I got phantom power but none since. But that's mainly because my interest in pop music in general started to wane at about that time.

I bought Guerrilla after Rings around the World because I liked that album so much & didn't get around to buying Guerrilla when it was originally released. I never got around to buying any of the previous stuff though, even though those albums are both great.

The first SFA album I bought. Probably still my favourite. Just the right balance of experimentation & pop.
