USA!
USA!
It's almost like the American supporters want the rest of the world to hate their country.
...I have got a small amount of the same reverb on everything because the guitar did sound like it wasn't in the same 'space' as everything else (which of course, it wasn't). I might fiddle with that a bit more. But I just listened now & it sounds a lot lot better than before. Cheers!
18.02.2026 17:42 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes, I've done that with the panning. Basses & low notes are more in the middle though, because I don't think they clash with the guitar pitches. I also used an imager to reduce the stereo width of the guitar (after previously making it wider!)...
18.02.2026 17:41 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This one's a full orchestra (Spitfire Audio's BBCSO) with guitar & it's difficult to make the guitar clear against all the other stuff going on. I did have the guitar way too 'harsh' sounding to make it stand out. Now I've been using EQ on the orchestra with the guitar sidechained which works better
18.02.2026 16:55 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I've learnt a hell of a lot about mixing & mastering while working on my latest track. Mostly what I've learnt is that I'm crap at mixing & mastering.
18.02.2026 13:57 — 👍 8 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0That's actually a really good idea. Then they could adapt if the skaters cock something up, maybe change from a major chord to a diminished triad.

14.02.2026 18:10 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0My new song is released! Sour Grapes is about being unlucky in love. And what better day to release it than on Valentine's Day? I am happy to share the song 🎶
Don't forget to do something nice for yourself on this special day, even if it's small, like getting some tea ☕🩷

I do volunteering work for Kent Wildlife Trust & they let you have a free study day every year, so I chose Fungus last year & now am on the constant lookout for interesting fungi! Witches butter is yellow so this is the black version. Not that uncommon. It's really slimy!

Found some black witches butter in the woods today. Quite appropriate for Friday 13th.
13.02.2026 15:55 — 👍 31 🔁 3 💬 2 📌 0I notice a lot of the men in the figure skating appear to be homosexual. I imagine a heterosexual man would become too distracted by the amount of physical contact with an attractive young woman & just fall over.

04.02.2026 09:10 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0There's no way in the early 80's Prince could have written, produced, played every instrument on a number of classic albums (for himself & others), toured & starred in films. My theory is there were a number of Prince's, probably genetically engineered (in a compact size to conserve material)...
04.02.2026 09:08 — 👍 5 🔁 2 💬 1 📌 0Same here. I started working chronologically from the 50's about that time, starting with Kind of Blue & Giant Steps. I wouldn't have dreamed of listening to Jazz when I was young but now love both those albums. I'm up to 1986 now & there are signs that pop music is past it's best already.
04.02.2026 07:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0One of the absolute best. I think most of my favourite's have a certain leaning into classical music.
04.02.2026 07:50 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I got phantom power but none since. But that's mainly because my interest in pop music in general started to wane at about that time.
04.02.2026 07:48 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I bought Guerrilla after Rings around the World because I liked that album so much & didn't get around to buying Guerrilla when it was originally released. I never got around to buying any of the previous stuff though, even though those albums are both great.
04.02.2026 07:24 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The first SFA album I bought. Probably still my favourite. Just the right balance of experimentation & pop.
