Walkouts are political speech.
Political speech is exactly what the First Amendment protects.

If enforcement becomes about silencing a viewpoint instead of neutrally applying rules, that is retaliation.

You cannot teach the Constitution in civics class and then punish students for exercising it. ⬇️

Public school students do not lose their 1st Amendment rights at the schoolhouse door.

Yes, schools can enforce attendance policies.
Yes, a walkout can be marked unexcused.

But threatening investigations & teaching certificate revocations because students protested?

That is not about attendance⬇️
