Private equity - "decimated" US hospitals according to report - now targeting the NHS - The Lowdown In late August the release of a report by US senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn) on the destruction of hospitals in his home state of Connecticut, and across the US by private equity companies highlights on...

Private equity decimated US hospitals, says Senate report; now targeting the NHS.

PE practice, Cut staff/wages, high debt/price, asset-stripping tax abuse, poor service.

PE makes millions in the UK from hip/knee/cataract surgery, GP surgeries, care homes, will run new NHS neighbourhood hubs.

As a Canadian, it makes my blood boil that Banting's gift to the world was commodified and exploited like this. It's absolutely disgusting to see those prices. Banting would be rolling in his grave.

The Zack effect is working very well then… he is obviously doing something very subversive and scary for the establishment πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ calling for equality!!

Given the hundreds of millions of pounds given to private companies for the care of children every year, you’d expect children’s homes to be well maintained.

Think again. 🧡

My dearest wife,

It is week two of the Siege of Portland, and still these barbarians will not yield to our troops. We have severed the cords of their latte machines but they are making cowboy coffee in their camps, where loud ukulele songs of resistance even now drift in on the breeze.

Morgan McSweeney & Labour Together funding not disclosed to the Electoral Commission. The plot to oust Jeremy Corbyn & install Keir Starmer as Leader of the Labour Party & then PM. This is going to destroy Starmer & hopefully the deviant Labour Party he presides over. 'The Fraud' by Paul Holden.

GPs want patients to be able to see GPs

Yet @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social is not listening to their concerns

There are unemployed GPs & practices with too little funding to employ them

Online access 8am-6.30pm without the support will be a disaster for patients & will reduce actual appts

Landlords don't provide housing.

Builders provide housing, what Landlords do is take housing and keep it so people can't buy it while constantly hiking their rents so people will never be able to buy it.

Doctors are patients too!

#NHS is for all of us, although if you’re healthy & wealthy you may not need it

As a society having access to care, free at the point of need, is worth fighting for

Why?

Because you never know when YOU might be in need!

That’s a functioning society

Thames Water paid Β£1m-plus to corporate spooks firm part-owned by Starmer adviser Exclusive: Hakluyt – formerly run by Varun Chandra – has been advising utilities company as it tries to avoid renationalisation

Revolving doors.

Thames Water paid Β£1m+ to corporate lobbyists part-owned by Starmer adviser.

The aim is to reach policymakers, keep TW private.

TW pays Β£200m a year to various advisers, cost borne by customers.

Public ownership would end this chicanery. No need to pay dividends, lobbyists.

Cost of children's homes doubles but care can be poor Huge sums spent on children's residential care in England do not represent value for money, says spending watchdog.

Indictment of England's children in residential care, mostly corporate controlled.

Annual spend Β£3.1bn, paid by local councils, spend per child Β£318,400, 22% profit, leaves less for frontline service.

Poor value for money. Children not properly cared.

But govts insist on privatisation.

The NHS isn't an 'ecosystem' - it's a public health service
YouTube video by Keep Our NHS Public The NHS isn't an 'ecosystem' - it's a public health service

The NHS isn't an 'ecosystem' to be divvied up between private interests. It's OUR service & must remain THE NHS providing healthcare for all.

We won't let Alan Milburn, Streeting & this govt downgrade our NHS to just 1 provider amongst private companies.

Lord O’Donnell on BBC WAO says Pensioners have gained the most. If he had to give up his state pension or his earnings in retirement including unearned income, it would be the pension. No brainer. Doesn’t go up nearly as fast as his investment income.

If I had time - or a BBC-sized team - I'd assemble all the Daily Mail front pages hysterically celebrating the Tories doing all the things that left the country in the mess that the paper is now moaning about & somehow trying to blame on, *checks notes*, Keir Starmer. They even worshipped Liz Truss!
