Truly appalling attack.

Teachers, journalists, healthcare workers, and academics have been fired or suspended for expressing pro-Palestinian views. Some workers and students have been added to public or private blacklists (Canary Mission) for pro-Palestinian activism

There is one place, however, where Musk, with the help of his minions, achieved his goals. He did indeed shred U.S.A.I.D. Though a rump operation is now operating inside the State Department, the administration says that it has terminated more than 80 percent of U.S.A.I.D. grants. Brooke Nichols, an associate professor of global health at Boston University, has estimated that these cuts have already resulted in about 300,000 deaths, most of them of children, and will most likely lead to significantly more by the end of the year. That is what Musk’s foray into politics accomplished.

Musk should be asked about this in every interview he does now and forever. To ignore it is a dereliction of duty.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

It began to be memory holed before the emergency phase was over. It was a global disaster, and bless everyone who tried to make it less of a disaster. And we will live with the aftereffects for the rest of our lives.

Having worked on #Syria full-time since the crisis began nearly 14yrs ago, there really is no understating how remarkable the losses imposed on #Assad's regime have been over the past week.

A large reason for this lies with #HTS — a 🧵:

With a fully remote team of just 20 employees, Bluesky has surpassed 20 million users in its first year since opening to the public and is stealing thunder from rivals hundreds of times its size.

At a time when conventional wisdom among bosses is that workers must be in-person to be productive.

Up here in Canada, the premier of New Brunswick, Blaine Higgs, has been launching an attack on Queer youth, and has been campaigning hard against trans healthcare.

He just got absolutely wrecked. Thrown out of power and defeated in his own riding.

Tiny victories.
