Honestly, if they had been sensible and not used 1:√2 (≈1.414) rather than rounding to 1.5 we'd all have a much nicer time of it.

A4 would be 200x300 and no one can convince me that isn't nicer than 210x297 just because folding it in half preserves the ratio.
