Absolutely. Imagine a world where Wharton gets done Jan '24, Murillo last summer, and MGW gets over the line this summer. All guys we were reliably linked with and positions not filled those windows. Swap Doue for Odobert for funsies. Straight nightmare fuel thinking what could've been.

If we're middling around midtable and just stodging up games end of the season, I'll be right there with you being obnoxious. But I think that carries more weight if you give a guy the benefit of the doubt first before dooming at the first sign of trouble

Obviously the madders injury is devastating and a trigger after that injury ravaged season. But add an exciting 10 to this squad and we're in decent shape imo.

No need to give up hope after a couple bad preseason showings. These used to all be behind closed doors for a reason.

Blaming the current squad may feel like absolving Ange. But the bigger issue was missing 30-40% of that squad. Sure the thin/young squad exacerbated that, but that's been addressed with 5 additions (so far) since January and experience and growth in our young bois.

Since the start of 23/24 we've turned over 10/25 squad spots ~40% (5 new since Jan '25). I'd say only two of the outgoings (Son/PEH) are players that might improve the squad. And only two incoming some might let go (Dragusin/Palhinha)

We're miles better than dec-feb last season. Regardless of whether you compare full strength squad or squad available we're still in much better shape than most of last season.

I suggest we all chill until they play some games that count (unless we don't sign a 10, then everyone panic!)

With confirmation of the Maddison injury it's hard not to despair for Spurs this coming season. He and Cuti were the two keys to playing fun ball that we couldn't afford to lose.

This has been bleak but still not throwing in the towel over preseason. I prefer to bet against the current anyway. Putting in my Spurs FA Cup winners and top 4 finish parlay now while the payout is good

Maybe, but assume he's probably more than a season from that stature yet. The 7 shirt could use a couple seasons break though so he could still be the one.

The Newcastle game we showed signs of life in the high press and some improvements in the final third.

Anything worth watching back on this one, or should I save myself the 60 minutes or so?
