Yeah definitely more of a bid-ask spread measure of liquidity rather than a demand-focused one.

Not a magic bullet metric on its own, but one that’s hopefully helpful nonetheless (and could be really interesting to layer value/trend/other metrics on top of in the future as well)

Basically your point on rookies is spot on — Liquidity indicates it’s hard to get a deal including rookies done right now.

Ex.: QBs Ward and TLaw have the same value, but TLaw has nearly double the Liquidity. I.e. it’s easier for Buyers and Sellers to find an overlap in their price for the vet.

Think this is probably the disconnect, because Liquidity ≠ Demand here. It’s more a measure of “how easily can this player be included in a deal”. Because dynasty is a market with no real “cash” equivalent, liquidity here is more equally focused on the Buy and the Sell sides (compared to stocks).

First thing that jumps out digging into Liquidity is how tight ends and rookies are by far the least liquid dynasty assets.
