The AFL needs to be held to account for their blackmail of the state. What other state has had to build a roofed stadium before their team/s were recognised. This is discrimination!

It’s not just a stadium. It’s a debt bomb for all of Australia.
If Tasmania defaults, every state pays. Your taxes. Your interest rates.

Spirit of Tasmania operator TT-Line to get $75 million state government bailout The ferry operator had asked for $100 million in equity…

But sure the government can definitely manage to build a ridiculous stadium. Definitely won’t go over budget. No worries maaaaate. pulsetasmania.com.au/news/state-g...

End all funding every single private employment services provider.

Salt the earth so those in change of them never get any public money ever again - run them out of the country.

Get rid of mutual obligations

Bring back the CES

Raise the fricken rate

Ain’t hard.

Of particular note, a report from *Treasury* explaining what will have to happen if the state doesn’t stop overspending. One of the dismal options flagged is a blanket 25% cut to operating expenditure. 25 freaking per cent!!! What will that look like? Services are already failing to meet demand.

Gushing Trump says there has 'never been anybody better' to US than Australia Donald Trump lavishes praise on Australia and Anthony Albanese during the pair's landmark meeting in Washington, but takes a swipe at a former prime minister in the room.

I understand that, like it or not, world leaders have to deal with Trump but it isn't necessary to fawn over him or invite him to visit. Australians don't want him here. #auspol

Spirit of Tasmania IV ship unable to dock at interim berth at Point Henry in Geelong The ABC understands that a recent safety assessment found the interim berth would need two additional bollards for the ship to dock there at a cost of $2 million, an option which may not go ahead.

Imagine if the Tasmanian government tried to construct a stadium in Hobart. It would be completed extremely late, the cost would blow out significantly, and there would be many “unforeseen” problems. #nonewstadium

Today the Tas Govt officially binned the Planning Commission’s damning report into the proposed Mac Pt AFL stadium. But if the knuckleheads actually knew anything about ‘future prosperity’, they’d be focussed instead on essential infrastructure and services #auspol #politas

Tasmania Cannot Afford a $3.5 Billion Stadium for the AFL This is just madness. Even Rob Sitch and Utopia could not come close to this. Andrew Wilkie in parliament todaymcriticised the AFL’s demand for Tasmania to build a third AFL stadium at Macquarie Point...

tasmaniantimes.com/2025/10/tasm...
Why has the AFL insisted on a new stadium at Macquarie Point? It's because the AFL never wanted a Tasmanian team in the first place, so they made their demands so onerous they never expected the Tasmanian Government to sign up. #politas

Tasmanian government punts official AFL stadium report The Tasmanian government has dismissed yet another report advising against building a stadium on Hobart’s waterfront, this time by its own planning commission.

“More than a year of intensive work – conducted by an independent panel of five, with expertise in urban planning, law, local government, architecture and finance – was passed off as a matter of opinion.” @thesaturdaypaper.com.au #politas

I have watched these being built. They are basically brick boxes (and ugly). Not a single architectural appealing feature. $1.3 million for a unit in Launceston is just insane.

Cost blowout criticised as stadium debate rages in Tasmanian parliament In the first Question Time since the release of the Tasmanian Planning Commission's damning report on the Hobart AFL stadium, the Labor Party questioned the government's ability to deliver the stadium...

The cost blowout continues. The fact is, while the parliament is meant to be voting on this crazy project in November, the government will not know the cost of the project until final contracts are signed later next year. The biggest blank cheque in Tasmania’s history.#nonewstadium

Rockliff KNEW they would roll over. As they will in the case of the Salmon report (he'll ignore it with Labor's support). The same for EVERYTHING.
They oppose NOTHING.

That's why he is so confident in everything going his way.
He should just grant the Labor party honorary Liberal Party membership.
