Seriously, I can't think of a country where as many flavors of Christianity are allowed to openly practice their beliefs without government interference or oversight. Inability to legally force others to abide by your flavor of Christianity =/= "persecution".

Public Hearings make me want to tear my hair out. Real public engagement and written public comment should be the norm.

The public hearing format:

✅ Generates no new knowledge
✅ Generates a lot of anger and misinformation
✅ Privileges those with the most extreme views
✅ Leads to planner and policymaker burnout

It needs to go. Focus the time and resources on genuine public engagement.

We literally had one extremist citizen get our County Commissioners to delay a routine (and legally required) change to the countywide planning policies by at least a year. Frustration with this process is partly why I'm debating leaving the profession. It's tiring
