I was reluctant to accept this because I so dearly believe we need to move to a model based around independent publicly-funded non-profit social media. But if we do that right away, we haven't reversed the damage, and will still have a poisoned political culture.

These things happen on the platforms of narrative creation, like Twitter and Facebook, and also from elite opinion shapers. I think the only way is for us to seize control of social media and optimise the algorithms for maximising conversion to liberalism. It's ugly, but I don't see another way.

I was reluctant about the idea initially, but I think we have no choice but to take control of Twitter and other social media services that played important role in shaping social narratives. We need to reverse the damage by using algorithms to socially engineer a strong return to wokeness.

Threatening diplomats and their families might help the US get what it wants the first few times, but it's going to burn away any remaining goodwill it has with its partners. America will be punished for it eventually, and it will deserve it. China will be the beneficiary if they aren't stupid.
