This is hilarious. πŸ˜…

This Republican is a straight shooter, with Old Tennessee sayings to boot.

Watch as he talks about their attempt to ban Congressional Stock Trading.

He includes: Fonzi quotes. Admiration for swamps (beauty in Mother Nature). TN idioms. And the words "daggommit" & "damgum." πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Socialism is like polio, it comes back when people forget about the horrible damage it did last time.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Albert Einstein Gives a Speech Praising Immigrants’ Contributions to America (1939) There have been many times in American history when celebrations of the country’s multi-ethnic, ever-changing demography served as powerful counterweights to narrow, exclusionary, nationalisms.

Another regular reminder to parents whose kids have an IEP, 504, or any type of disability or accommodation… republicans think your kids don’t deserve to have access to an education. The DOE was the entity protecting those kids.

Every time I see conservative fearmongering about how dangerous the NYC subway is, I feel the need to defend it. I grew up in Ohio. It’s cars that are dangerous. It’s car accidents that are terrifyingly common. I’m not being dramatic when I say the subway is one of the best parts of my life now.

These columns of gas and dust that span roughly 4 to 5 light-years are sculpted and eroded by stellar winds from the nearby massive stars.

When I worked my 1st job as a reporter for a chain of small newspapers at 22, a United Way rep asked me out to breakfast to talk about local programs. They grabbed the check before I could.

My colleagues made me feel so bad and corrupt for accepting that $3 fruit salad.

Thanks to my friend Harriet for pointing out that the women went to Christ's tomb and saw he was not there, the angels showed up to describe what happened, & the women then told the apostles, who dismissed them. A Biblical account of women not being believed.

In short, were the university to choose to defend itself, some simple arithmetic suggests that β€” at least financially β€” it could. Easily.

It’s not too bold to predict that every university president will face a similar choice in the coming months.
