I made a uterus-shaped heating pad and can I just say that not only is the size of the womb great for heating the entire front, but the way the fallopian tubes can wrap around and the ovaries become little heating pads for your back really do something for referred menstrual pain. Never going back.

and i can only hope that when all this is over, we recognize and treat accordingly the people who made the policies, and pull them out from the thin veneer of protection offered by bureaucratic processes, and hold them as accountable as they deserve

something that i find very frustrating about bureaucracy and politics is that it seems like one of the purposes of having policies is so that the people making them have plausible enough deniability that, when someone dies, they can say "well it wasn't me, it was the policy"

A federal worker described the move to ABC News as a sudden recall of thousands of foreign service officers, forcing families to uproot with just days' notice—spouses quitting jobs, kids leaving schools, and even pets being relocated. "To uproot them and call them back to Washington like criminals while dealing with families and logistics is cruel. These people have kids in school," a former USAID employee told ABC News.
